The National Iron Ore Minning Museum has developed together with A'MUSEE Kanner Musée Lëtzebuerg an interactiv visit destined to children from 6 to 16 years age.
The interactiv visit gives the child the opportunity to identify themselves with the iron ore miner.
When entering the museum the child gets miner booklet, helmet, miner identification badge before experiencing by himself the work in the minning galleries.
Once on the spot he will become conscious of the underground darkness, he will understand the dangers and difficulties of working in the shine of a carbide lamp... He can extract iron ore.
The child will leave with his miner badge and the iron ore he has extracted in the mine.
This visit will last 2 hours and can be adopted to teachers wishes :
Age : 6 to 16 years
The temperature in the mine being 12°C , warm clothes are indispensable.
The visit takes place in groups of maximum 18 children.
The settled price for a group is 130 €.
When the number of children is higher than 18 a supplementary group will be constituted.
